About Kushukuru Milele

Forever Grateful — Always Real.

Kushukuru Milele means “Forever Grateful” in Swahili — but for me, it’s not just a name. It’s a declaration. A legacy. A promise I made to keep going, even when it hurts.

This brand was born from loss.
On April 13, 2021, just four days before my 40th birthday, I lost my brother to sickle cell. He was 52 years old, and he lived with strength and grace every single day. That pain could’ve stopped me — but instead, it sparked something bigger.

Kushukuru Milele is for him.
It’s for me.
It’s for anyone who’s ever lost someone and still found the strength to be grateful.

This isn’t just clothing — this is armor for the soul.
Every design, every word, every piece represents presence, purpose, and power.
It’s for those who love hard, fight quiet, and still choose gratitude.

The Origin of Kushukuru Milele

The words Kushukuru Milele came to me through grief — and stayed with me through healing.

When my brother passed, the silence left behind was loud. But in that space, I kept hearing one truth:
Gratitude is what remains when everything else is gone.

That truth became a message. That message became a mission.
And that mission became this brand.

Kushukuru Milele isn’t just about apparel. It’s about honoring our pain and choosing purpose anyway.
It’s about the ones we’ve lost — and the strength we carry because of them.

This is for those who know struggle, but still speak life.
For those who keep showing up, even when it’s hard.
For those who stay grateful — forever.
